For postoperative use, the medi SAK is fitted to the patient while still in the operating theatre to avoid harmful movements on an operated shoulder when patients reposition.

Step-by-step instructions
1. Once the orthosis is adjusted, you can don the product alone after the operation, depending on the degree of mobility. Avoid excessive strain on shoulders.

4. First, put on the waist belt by holding the end without the Velcro fastener and clamping it carefully between your elbow and your upper body under the affected shoulder. Hold the other end of the waist belt and close the belt below the chest.
5. Pass the belt around your neck and make sure that the neck pad passes around your neck.
6. Place the arm of the affected shoulder carefully in the belt loops.
7. Fasten the shoulder strap above your forearm with the help of the Velcro strip on the waist belt.
8. In consultation with your doctor, you can start only wearing the shoulder strap during the day as you progress. If you find it uncomfortable wearing the shoulder strap around your neck, you can change the setting of the strap.
9. Please put on the shoulder strap by holding the end and clamping it carefully under the affected shoulder between your elbow and your upper body.
10. Then pass the strap over the healthy shoulder and fasten the Velcro fastener around your wrist.
11. Now fasten the free end in a crosswise direction.
12. Wash the orthosis in cold water and mild soap suds. Then allow the orthosis to air dry.
13. It is advisable to carry out gentle swinging (pendulum) exercises to prevent adhesion of the joint structures because of the immobilisation.
14. To do this, remove the shoulder strap and let the arm swing.
15. Always ask your doctor about the type and duration of exercises for your situation.

• For postoperative use, the medi Arm fix is fitted to the patient while still in the operating theatre, avoiding harmful movements on the operated shoulder when repositioning a patient.

Instructions for medical staff:
1. Ensure that both arm loops are attached to the waist belt for positioning individually later.
2. Open the waist belt.
3. If the left shoulder was operated on, the shoulder strap should be attached to the side with the sewn-in label.
4. If the right shoulder was operated on, move the shoulder strap at the back of the waist belt to the other side.
5. Hold the waist belt's end with the Velcro fastener and pass the strap behind the patient.
6. Close the strap slightly to the side below the chest.
7. To prevent harmful movements of the affected shoulder, e.g., when opening the waist belt, you should ensure that the Velcro fastener is on the same side as the affected shoulder.
8. Now position the large forearm loop in the middle of the waist belt. The black fastener is facing towards the patient's head.
9. Secure the affected forearm with the help of the Velcro fastener. The hand is still outside the loop.
10. Attach the smaller loop to the side of the waist belt and fasten the Velcro fastener around the patient's upper arm.
11. You must attach the upper arm loop next to the fastener on the waist belt so you can still open it.
12. The loops should be positioned at the upper edge of the waist belt to prevent uncomfortable chafing in the bend of the elbow later.
13. The arm and forearm are now resting against the body at an angle of approximately 90°.
14. Pass the thin strap over the healthy shoulder and attach it to the front buckle.
15. Adjust the shoulder strap's length with the Velcro fasteners help, taking weight off the affected arm, which securely fixes to the body.
16. Make sure that the shoulder pad is in direct contact with the clavicle and that the shoulder strap is long enough to allow the patient to stand up straight later.
17. Once the medi Arm Fix is adjusted, patients can put the product on alone after the operation.

You must inform medi about your items within 7-days of the purchase date to receive approval prior to exchanging or returning your order.
All returned/exchanged items must be new, in an unopened box, unworn and unwashed.
If you choose to return your items, you will be required to pay for shipping, unless the product received is faulty or was incorrect.
To request an exchange, please mention that you would like your item to be exchanged with another product when preparing your return with our online support team.
